A group of leading brands of clothing and footwear retailers, manufacturers, NGOs, academic experts and the Environmental Protection Agency U.S. launched on 1 March the Coalition Sustainable Apparel . This initiative will work with a collaborative approach to reduce environmental and social impacts of the textile and footwear industry through, among other things, a single Sustainability Index that launched during 2011 tested .
